The Moon

What is the purpose of the Moon?
The moon helps with the tides, which in turn helps circulate wind and heat around the planet. This isn't it's 'purpose' as such as a benefit the moon has. The moon does other things, like reflecting light during night so we aren't in pitch black or affecting our body chemistry.
What is the Moon?
The Moon can be defined as a celestial body that makes an orbit around a planet and, the eight major planets, dwarf planets, and minor planets. However, the Moon can be referred to as the Earth's only natural satellite. Although not the largest natural satellite in the Solar System, it is, among the satellites of major planets, the largest relative to the size of the object it orbits.
