The Moon
What is the Moon made of?

The moon has a much thicker crust than the Earth. The interior of the moon is likely made up of rocky material made from minerals called olivines. olivines are minerals composed of silicon, magnesium ,iron and oxygen. The moon could also have a possible iron core in the moon but it's not guaranteed.

Children's fairytales tell us that the moon is made of cheese, but like all bodies in the solar system, rock is a more realistic ingredient.

What is the Moon made of?
The crust of the moon is made up of concrete-like regolith. The crust is about 38 to 63 miles (60 to 100 kilometers) thick. The outer part of the moon is also covered with dead volcanoes, impact craters, and lava flows. The moon is made up mostly of four minerals: plagioclase, pyroxene, olivine and ilmenite. These minerals make up 98-99% of the surface of the moon. The most common is plagioclase feldspar.
